Jodi Thorp entered private practice in San Diego in 2007, after 5 years as a trial attorney with the Federal Defenders of San Diego. While at Federal Defenders, Ms. Thorp distinguished herself as a talented trial advocate, winning trials through her determined and detailed investigation and courtroom advocacy skills. Since entering private practice, she has expanded her criminal defense practice to include selected personal injury and civil rights cases, as well as civil forfeiture. She has also handled a number of social security disability cases for clients trying to manage the complex administrative procedures involved in those cases.
Ms. Thorp is trilingual (Spanish/English/German) and has substantial international experience, having lived and worked in Germany, Argentina, and Costa Rica. She has conducted trainings in Mexico, and has participated in legal programs supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Johannesburg, South Africa and Doha, Qatar.
