Jodi Thorp is a founding partner with Clarke Johnston Thorp & Rice. Prior to joining the firm, she spent eight years in private practice and five years as a trial attorney with the renowned Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc., where she represented clients with compassion, litigating cases in the Southern District of California and before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She represents clients throughout the United States and associates with the Meyer Thorp Law Firm in Spokane, Washington, litigating civil rights, personal injury, and wrongful death cases.

Serving clients in San Diego since 2002, Jodi is a dedicated and accomplished trial attorney.

She began her career with the Federal Defenders of San Diego, where she quickly earned a reputation as a tenacious advocate, winning trials through meticulous investigation and compelling courtroom strategy.

Today, Ms. Thorp provides strategic, results-driven representation in personal injury, civil rights, and criminal cases throughout the United States.  She also guides clients through Social Security disability claims, helping them overcome complex administrative hurdles with clarity and confidence.

Fluent in Spanish, English, and German, Ms. Thorp offers a truly global perspective. Her international experience—including living and working in Germany, Argentina, and Costa Rica—enhances her ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. She has conducted legal trainings in Mexico and contributed to programs supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Johannesburg and Doha.
